McDERMOTT RISE ITALY: A CONCRETE COMITTMENT TO COMBINING ENTERPRISE AND EQUITY

We launched McDermott Rise Italy to put our skills and expertise at the service of the development of new business enterprises, for more equitable access to economic activities in our country.

Our program focuses on these goals:

  • to contribute to the growth of socially and economically vulnerable areas by supporting entrepreneurs and startups operating in these areas;
  • to fighting against the gender gap by providing legal support to women helping them to develop their initiatives;
  • to provide equal access to entrepreneurship by offering legal services that meet the specific needs of minority entrepreneurs and startups.

We work with selected entrepreneurs, early-stage and emerging companies that have an innovative plan but could benefit of the boost provided by the cooperation of a top-ranked international law firm.

The program provides a set of free legal services to entrepreneurs each year with the aim to support entrepreneurial projects throughout the process, from conception to project implementation.

WHAT MAKES A GREAT APPLICATION

PROMOTING EQUITY: BRINGING OUT TALENT WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION

  • You are an entrepreneur operating in disadvantaged business areas (e.g., those outlined in the Italian PNRR).
  • You are a female entrepreneur and/or a startup whose shareholding or management team includes at least 50% of women.
  • You are an entrepreneur belonging to a minority or and/or a startup whose shareholding or management team includes at least 50% of people belonging to any kind of minority.

We particularly welcome applications from entrepreneurs engaged in the ecological transition, operating in the ESG sector, that represent diversity across additional intersections, including gender and the LGBTQ+ community and young entrepreneurs as well.

Your vision matters, and so do the details. You don’t just have a great idea—you’ve established a solid strategy for bringing it to market and have a written business plan.

ENGAGED MANAGEMENT TEAM

You’ve assembled a team of dynamic leaders who share your passion for the problem you are working to solve, as well as the communities and customers you are seeking to benefit.

DISRUPTIVE BUSINESS MODEL

This program is open to any idea and any industry. What matters is that you’ve developed an innovative business model and aren’t afraid to turn your vision into achievable results.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR TECHNOLOGY

This is the heart of your business—your know-how, your tech, your IP. You’ve already taken the initial steps to develop it, realize it and keep it secure. If you have the idea but not yet developed any of the above, do not worry, your application is more than welcome anyway.
